Happy 2011 to everyone out there! For me, 2010 was a great year. I had the opportunity to visit some pretty far flung wine locales including Mendoza, Argentina, Cahors and the Rhone Valley in France. Stateside, my travels included the Willamette Valley, Paso Robles, Spring Mountain in the Napa Valley and the Sierra Foothills.
2010 also marked my foray into making my own wine. For those of you that have been following this blog, you already know that I have been learning first hand alot about the winemaking process while having an absolute blast!
If all goes according to plan, 2011 will be full of more wine, travel, and meeting interesting people. Below are goals for this new year..
-visits to Provence, the Rhone Valley and Bordeaux.
– wine country trip to Howell Mountain in the Napa Valley
-road trip up to the Sierra Foothills for more wine country exploration
-travel to Chile, Spain or Mexico (mezcal anyone?)..not sure, yet but will keep you posted
-another shot at making wine come fall, not sure what..but I think i’ve gotten bitten by the winemaking bug!
-my friend Kee and I are going to try our hands at making cheese! (to pair with our homemade wine and beer of course)
-to cook and (wine) pair my way through Joyce Goldstein’s The Tagine Deck (25 recipes..so I should be able to do this!)
-now that I have put these goals out into the universe, I really need make good on these promises.
For those of you who subscribe to, follow and read my blog, THANK YOU so much for your support. At the end of the day, (when I am tired and it’s so much easier to surf the web and cyber-stock the latest celebrity marriage, baby or bad shoes day) your readership is what keeps me blogging!
